Star Points
Hey, if you’re craving a light and refreshing salt ramen, I’ve got just the place for you! There’s this stylish ramen shop called Ryukishin LEO inside the Shin-Osaka Station building that serves up some seriously clean and light dishes. It’s a bit tricky to find, but that means it’s usually not crowded – which is great! It’s on the 2nd floor of Shin-Osaka Station. Remember, 2nd floor! The ticket gates are on the 3rd floor, so if you get lost, just take the escalator down.

The ticket machine takes both credit cards and cash, which is super convenient. Most ramen shops are cash-only, so this is a real plus. Once you sit down, you’ll notice the interior is so modern and chic, you might think you’re in a café! When your ramen arrives, you’ll see the broth is incredibly clear – you can actually see the noodles through it! Speaking of noodles, they’re perfectly firm and go amazing with the soup. You know how salt ramen can taste different depending on the stock? This one’s definitely on the lighter side. There’s barely any oiliness, which might give you a whole new perspective on ramen. They add a slice of lemon which really adds to this clean taste. The chashu (sliced meat) is also super light – pretty sure it’s chicken breast. Usually, chicken breast gets tough if you cook it too long, but somehow they’ve managed to keep it tender despite being fully cooked. It’s got this smooth, moist texture that’s just perfect.

The prices are a bit higher than your typical Japanese ramen, and I’ll admit I skipped the extra toppings my first time there. But next time, I’m definitely going all in with the toppings! They’ve also got side dishes like gyoza (dumplings), which I’d totally recommend trying too.
