Hey, want to try some amazing ramen in Osaka?
Let me tell you about this spot called “Men ni Hikari” in Namba that’ll impress even your pickiest ramen-loving friends. They’re famous for their unique, rich yet clear broth. Their menu features duck, seafood, and miso-based options. While duck is their signature, I actually prefer their miso ramen – it’s rare to find good miso ramen in Osaka compared to Hokkaido.
The shop sits in Amerika-mura, Osaka’s hip-hop district full of punk shops and music. Their menu reflects this vibe with items named after music genres:
- HipHop: Duck Soup
- R&B: Duck & Seafood Soup
- Punk: Duck & Shellfish Soup
- Jazz: Miso Soup
The noodles are uniquely flat-shaped – not quite as flat as pasta, but they grab the broth perfectly. Every bowl is consistently delicious, living up to the creative menu names.
Pro tip: There are two locations nearby, and both get crazy lines. I’d recommend showing up before opening time. Enjoy your trip!
