“Odoru Udon” translates to “Dancing Udon” – it’s this wild, unique udon spot! They’ve got tempura made with maitake mushrooms, and let me tell you, it’s absolutely mind-blowing! Tempura is totally essential with udon.
Their udon has this incredible “koshi” – which is tough to translate exactly into English. It’s kind of… chewy? Substantial? Like, it has this amazing texture that gives you something to really bite into. You know what I mean?
Seriously, everyone needs to try authentic Japanese udon. Sure, you can get udon overseas, but Japanese udon is on another level. It’s crazy how such tiny differences – like boiling time or wheat flour mix – can completely change everything. Most Japanese udon shops make their noodles in-house. So each place has its own unique touch. Maybe chain restaurants are different, but even Marugame Seimen makes noodles specific to each location. Freshness is key with udon!
I’ve gone on and on here, but bottom line: just go try it! You won’t regret it. Co
